Founder and CEO

Luis has four decades of experience in the national and international finance field. In addition to being the founding partner and CEO of LV Peru Invest, he is currently a founding partner in Pacifico HVDC Link, an electric transmission company. In addition, he is a Director of IpSoft Peru, a company specialized in Artificial Intelligence and subsidiary of IpSoft Europe, Advisor to the Board of the CFA Society Peru, and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Club Esmeralda.

 

Luis has been Minister of Economy and Finance of Peru, Ambassador of Peru in the United States, President of the Association of Private Pension Funds Administrators (AFP), and Vice President of the International Federation of AFPs. He worked for 28 years in the International Monetary Fund where he held high-level positions and accumulated experience in the design and negotiation of stabilization policies and programs, debt policies in emerging countries, and monitoring of the international financial market. He has been Chairman of the Board of the CAF and the Consolidated Reserve Fund of the ONP, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of Proinversión, Governor of the World Bank, Alternate Governor of the International Monetary Fund, Director and member of the Executive Committee of CONFIEP, Trustee of the Mountain Institute, member of the America's Ambassadors' Advisory Group of the Center for International Strategic Studies, and member of the Macroeconomic Advisory Group of the Meketa Global Investment Group of California.

 

Luis has a Ph.D. and a Master in Economics from Boston University and a B.A in Economics from the Catholic University of Peru. 

Manuel Arevalo

With more than 30 years of experience, primarily in the finance industry, Manuel has held important management positions in international firms including UBS, Wells Fargo, Standard Chartered and JP Morgan Chase. During his banking career he has been Senior Credit Risk Officer for Latin America, Structured Trade Finance Head for the Americas, Executive Committee Member for Latin America, Head of a Bank Trading Company, as well as Head of New York Banking and Brokerage Services globally. His career has given him a broad perspective of the finance industry, with direct experience in asset management, trading, structured finance, corporate banking, corporate finance, corresponding banking and foreign exchange, as well as private banking, for which he obtained NYSE/NASD Series 3, 7, 9, 10 y 66 licenses. Mr. Arevalo returned to Peru and joined LV Peru Invest as partner in 2012.

 

Mr. Arévalo studied Civil Engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería in Lima and obtained a Magister en Administración (equivalent to an MBA) at ESAN in Lima. He also obtained a Graduate Diploma in Marketing of Financial Services at the Marketing Institute of Singapore, in addition to other diplomas from graduate institutions in the United States and Europe.

Veronica joined LV Peru Invest in 2015, bringing over 15 years of experience in both the private and public sectors. Most recently, she was the Executive Director of Global Health for Pro Mujer, leading health, safety, and wellness initiatives in Argentina, Bolivia, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Peru. In this role, she oversaw health operations as well as the development and implementation of a new global strategy to improve health outcomes and financial protection for women in the areas where Pro Mujer works. She also led the negotiation and structuring of a joint venture in the health sector in Bolivia. Previously, she served as the Deputy Health Team Leader for Latin America and the Caribbean at USAID, where she oversaw programs and projects in the health sector, including various public-private partnerships. Before joining USAID, Veronica spent nearly two years as U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg’s Legislative Assistant and Counsel on health, social welfare, labor, and agriculture issues. Prior to her work in the Senate, Veronica practiced health law for five years at Hogan & Hartson LLP (now Hogan Lovells) in Washington, DC, where she advised a range of clients on legislative and regulatory issues. She worked as a consultant for the World Health Organization and UNAIDS in Sri Lanka. 

 

Veronica graduated with a degree in Molecular Biology and a Certificate in Latin American Studies from Princeton University. She holds a Master of Public Health from The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
